Hazmat crews from around the state spent the first part of the week taking part in hazmat training.  The Madison County Hazmat team went to Quincy for training, and was involved in a continuous 24 hour drill with a technical rescue team and an element of the state urban search and rescue team.

Wood River Fire Chief Steve Alexander says it was meant to be as realistic as possible.

The Madison County Hazmat Team includes personnel from Godfrey, Alton, Collinsville, Highland-Pierron, Edwardsville, and Wood River Fire Departments.
