Madison County Treasurer Kurt Prenzler issued a press release yesterday, criticizing an independent investment analysis that has yet to be completed and presented to the Finance Committee. Prenzler says that the analysis was "made to order" by Madison County Chairman Alan Dunstan to make him look bad. Dunstan responded with a press release of his own explaining the goal of the analysis. The look into the books cost the county $28,500. Prenzler tells The Big Z what he thinks are the motives for the analysis.

In a press release of his own Dunstan says Prenzler refused to cooperate when he was asked to be a part of the selection team that interviewed investment advisors as part of the bidding process. He says he even excluded himself and County Administrator Joe Parente from the meeting to encourage Prenzler to participate and cooperate.
