After spending the last twenty years working in the “green industry”, Wood River native Kimberly Petzing has been named the Madison County Green Schools Coordinator. Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dusntan announced the decision last month and is “confident that she will build upon the county’s existing programs”.

Petzing will work with all school districts in the county to pursue environmental grant opportunities and will be charged with the task of integrating other sustainable topics into the curriculum, including air quality, energy efficiency, water quality and stormwater management.
Serving the areas of Alton, Godfrey, East Alton, Wood River, Roxana, Edwardsville, Jerseyville, Brighton, Bethalto, Grafton, Granite City, Hartford, Highland, Troy, Fairview Heights, Belleville and the surrounding cities.
