Lost in the discussion about how to pay for the upgrades to the Madison County Jail is a project that will bring upgrades to the the courthouse in Edwardsville.  The improvements at the courthouse will include the cleaning, tuck-pointing and sealing of the exterior and the replacement of the heating, cooling and ventilation systems.

That and other projects will be paid for out of the cash reserves, according to Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan, who says some of these upgrades are long overdue.

Dunstan comments

Other projects include the replacement of the roofs at the Administration Building and the Wood River facility, the cleaning and sealing of the exterior of the Administration Building, the replacement of five consoles for the Sheriff's Department's radio system, and several other planned projects.
