The deadline to register to vote in the General Primary Election is March 12, and the Jersey County Clerk says interest in the coming election, while not as intense as it normally is during a Presidential election, is holding its own.  There are several interesting races and referenda on the April 9 ballot, and many people apparently want a say.

Steve Pohlman says early voting is easy now, ands foresees it getting even easier in the future, with the possibility of online voting.

Macoupin County Clerk Pete Duncan says voter registration has kept a steady pace, as there are also some hotly-contested municipal races there.  You can register at your county clerk's office for another week.  For more information, call 498-5571 in Jersey County, or 217-854-3214 in Macoupin County.
