Madison County Clerk Debra Ming-Mendoza will open her office in Edwardsville the day after Thanksgiving to accomodate any candidates that would like to file their petitions for the March 18 primary election. All other offices at the County Administration Building will be closed that day, but Ming-Mendoza says she felt the call to open her office from 8:30am to 4:30pm on Friday, November 29.
She says she will be there by herself, so the taxpayers will not be footing the bill for a full staff to show up on what is part of the Thanksgiving holiday for county employees. Any candidates who have questions about the filing process can call the Madison County Clerk’s office at 692-6290.
