The area where theCrosstown Road,Illinois255, and Corridor 67 should connect by late 2012 is poised to be a major crossroads for transportation to west centralIllinois. A multi-million dollar grading and paving project from Godfrey toDelhiis underway, with bridges already poured in some spots, and earthwork completely changing the look of the land for the 4 miles or so between the two towns.
Corridor 67 Executive Director Don Miller says improving the highway from a 2-lane road to a 4-lane divided highway is welcome news as it relates to both efficient traffic flow, and overall safety of the road.
