Corridor 67 just north of Godfrey is ahead of schedule, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. The multi-million dollar grading and paving project from Godfrey to Delhi continues, with bridges going up in some spots, and earthwork completely changing the look of the land for the 4 miles or so between the two towns.
Improving the highway from a 2-lane road to a 4-lane divided highway is ahead of schedule, and work on that section should be done by next spring, according to IDOT Engineer Joe Gasaway. He says the interchange near the Godfrey Village Hall will have a whole new look when it's done:
The US 67 Corridor in Illinois extends nearly 223 miles from Interstate 280 at Rock Island to I-270 south of Alton along a north south alignment in west central Illinois. US 67 is predominately 2 lanes, but the plan is to eventually widen it to four lanes.
