The deaths of two motorcyclists about a month ago have been ruled accidental in both cases. 44-year-old Jeffrey Pride of South Roxana was killed after crashing into a semi tractor-trailer the morning of May 7. 27-year-old Dustin Aldridge of Wood River died after a crash near the intersection of Route 140 and Stanley Road on May 4.
Pride was pronounced dead shortly after 6am at the scene of the accident near the intersection of Missouri Avenue and Konzen Court. Toxicological testing revealed a blood alcohol level of .124, and tested negative for drugs. The official cause of death was determined to be “blunt head and chest trauma.” Aldridge died of “blunt force trauma to the neck” after hitting a curb and roadway sign. Toxicology revealed no sign of alcohol or drugs.
