If you are a contractor and are interested in bidding on jobs let by the STate of Illinois, you should attend a meeting in Collinsville next week. On June 5, contractors, designers and suppliers will be familiarized with bidding opportunities under the Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program.

The program is free and open to anyone interested in working on state-funded construction projects.  David Blanchette is the Communications Manager of the Capital Development Board, which manages all state-funded, non-road construction projects. He says this looks to be a busy summer construction season.

Blanchette comments

The session will feature an overview of the program and bidding opportunities for projects included in the program. Topics include project delivery methods; the Minority Business Enterprise / Female Business Enterprise program; an overview of requirements and opportunities for architects, engineers and designers; and a session that will help business people become pre-qualified as required to bid on state construction projects, and familiarize them with state contract requirements. It runs from 10am-noon at the DoubleTree By Hilton Collinsville-St. Louis Hotel and Conference Center. For more information, call 217-524-6793.
