The continued expansion at the Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery means more jobs for union construction workers over the next year and a half.  The bulk of the Coker and Refinery Expansion project wrapped up in 2011, but a continuation of the project would likely mean a resumption of construction work early next year, pending IEPA approval.

Refinery spokesman Melissa Erker says the state needs to sign off on the plan due to a revision of air emission permits.

She expects many of the expected 750 construction jobs to be local hires.
