Legislation being proposed in Washington D.C. could potentially help victims of future disasters in Illinois.  Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville), along with many other members of the state's congressional delegation, is pushing legislation that would re-write the formula FEMA uses when calculating what communities are eligible for assistance.

He says Illinois is often punished because the formula uses the state's entire population when most of it resides in the Northeast corner.

Madison County residents are being asked to take a survey if you suffered any kind of flood damage.  By calling 211 or 1-800-427-4626 your information will be logged, possibly helping Madison County qualify for federal assistance.
