Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) says he hopes Rauner takes a different approach to his proposed $400 million in cuts to the state's colleges, as well as working with labor unions.

I’m going with our legislative leaders, and I’m also going to work with the labor leaders that have worked with me to hopefully come up with solutions that are going to be beneficial for the entire state,” Davis said. “But let’s remember, the governor was left with a fiscal crisis that, unfortunately, doesn’t make people gasp like they did when Rod Blagojevich was inaugurated.”
Davis says in both cases, these proposals should be seen as starting points for negotiations among state lawmakers.
