Rodger Cook, a candidate for the Republican nomination in the 12th District, has released his 2010 income tax returns. He says he did that as part of his decades-long effort to bring more transparency to government agencies. Cook was accompanied at a couple of stops on Tuesday by former gubernatorial candidate Adam Andrzejewski, who is the founder of a citizen watchdog group that advocates transparency in public spending.
Cook (pictured) says his ideals and Andrzejewski's ideals are one in the same.
Andrzejewski says while he supports Cook's ideals, this is not an official endorsement.
Cook is a former mayor of Belleville. He is in a crowded field that includes Jason Plummer, who has picked up numerous endorsements, including that of U.S. Congressman John Shimkus and U.S. Senator Mark Kirk. Also running on the GOP ticket is Theresa Kormos of O'Fallon, a newcomer to the political wars.
