The governor’s attempt to hit lawmakers in the wallet by freezing their pay until a pension reform plan is approved is getting mixed reactions from legislators.
State Rep. Elaine Nekritz (D-Northbrook), a member of a 10-person panel charged with reaching a compromise on pension reform, says having her pay frozen doesn’t provide additional motivation. Nekritz has been working on the issue for over a year.
