There are plenty of questions about Illinois' new concealed carry law, so a meeting on the topic is being held today in Edwardsville. If you want to learn more, Madison County Sheriff Bob Hertz, Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons, and Regional Superintendent of Schools Bob Daiber will answer questions you may have about the implementation of the new law.
Hertz says the meeting is from 2-4pm at the SIUE Morris University Center.

People who want to carry guns in public can start applying for permits in January, but the permits won’t likely be issued until April. That’s a couple weeks behind the originally scheduled March date. People will need to have at least eight hours of training on things like how to shoot, handle, and store a gun before they can get a permit.
