A community garden is being started at the Milton Schoolhouse in Alton.  The garden will act as a new learning space in the community with regular weekly programming every Wednesday morning from 9-10am and every other Sunday afternoon at 4pm.

The programs will run until November, according to Dana Wynn, graduate student at SIUE, who is behind the creation of the project.  She tells The Big Z the Lewis & Clark Youth Build program built the four raised bed boxes located at the back of the building.

She says the hope is to build a sense of community by bringing people together.  For more information, e-mail dmw125@gmail.com.
