The 25th annual United Way Community Christmas donation drive is underway in the Riverbend, with 15 local agencies benefiting from the donations.   Non-perishable food, clothing, household items and toys are the most common needs for those who are less fortunate around the holidays.

Community Christmas Chairperson Mary Jo Kratschmer says she got involved a few years ago just by volunteering on the donation-sorting day.  She says others have done the same and by giving a little time, you can get so much in return:
