After what seems like months of meetings dealing with the inability to make ends meet, the Alton City Council Committee of the Whole breezed through a meeting filled with seemingly non-controversial items. While there were a couple of road closures on the agenda, most of the items were lease agreements allowing for sidewalk café’s downtown along 3rd Street.
The bars and restaurants getting the ok were Chez Marilyn, Catdaddy’s Tavern, Bossanova, and Tony’s Lounge. Road closures were approved for the August 15th Market Street Block Party, the August 29th Labor Parade in Upper Alton, and the November 7th SSM Physical Therapy Charity 5k and 15k. The full council will consider these items and more tomorrow at 7:30pm during the Alton City Council meeting.
