The Drug Free Alton Coalition continues its efforts to educate area youth to the dangers of drug use and underage drinking.  Getting the youth involved in finding solutions is a key to making their efforts stick, according to organizers, so many of their peers will be speaking at an event Thursday at Alton High School.

The town hall meeting is called “Walk In Stride, Don’t Provide” and is focused on informing kids and their parents why it is a bad idea for adults to provide their children with booze.  Coalition organizer Emily Mangi says they will be discussing the new social host law.

The meeting runs from 6-7pm Thursday October 23 at the Alton High School Commons.  In addition to the speakers, there will be attendance prizes including a 32” flat screen tv.
