Thirteen years have passed since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 people died that day. The New York City Fire Department lost 340 men and women, while their police counterparts lost 23 officers. A group of local high school students will be remembering those that were lost that day with a special ceremony in Bethalto.
Sierra Jennings, Junior at Civic Memorial High School, says they will be decorating the campus in a patriotic way.
