The new principal for Civic Memorial High School is settling in to his new office, less than a month before the start of the new school year.  Aaron Kilpatrick has served as the administrator for the alternative school program in the district, known as CM-West, as well as an administrator at CM, and at Trimpe Middle School, and was chosen for the principal's job earlier this year. 

Kilpatrick tells The Big Z school starts August 17.

That is a program he says is new this year in which incoming freshmen will go through orientation by led student volunteers.  Kilpatrick takes over for Justin Newell who is the new curriculum director for the Bethalto School District.   Newell steps in for Dr. Jill Griffin is the new district superintendent.
