If you are waiting for a check from the dissolution of the Wood River Township Hospital, you may be waiting a little longer. Since the state passed the law making the refund possible, only a few more issues stand between the property owners and their money.

The hospital closed in 2000, but the board stayed together to make sure pensions for the hospital's employees were covered. The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund has plenty of money to pay the pensions associated with the hospital, so a refund to property owners in the district was authorized.
