A new gymnasium complex is in the works for Civic Memorial High School and the school board this week approved the letting of bids for a new scoreboard for that building and the old gym, and approved the purchase of a new scoreboard for the football field.  Nevco was awarded the bid for the one at the football field, at a price of almost $70,000, according to Superintendant Dr. Cindy Blasa.

The 3.2-million gymnisium project will include a new 10,000 square foot addition to the high school that will house a competition gym floor, a new weight training facility, locker rooms, bathrooms and seating for up to 600 people.  District officials awarded to the project to Bruce Unterbrink Construction with the The majority of the funding for the project will be covered by state and federal grants.
