Alton has taken a step in restarting the Riverview Park redevelopment project, and will be entering into an agreement with the CTA Group and Wayne Freeman for architectural and engineering services.  The city has been awarded over $550,000 in grants over the past two years, but the clock is ticking, according to the Director of Development and Housing.

Greg Caffey says if they want the federal money, there is a window of a little more than a year to get the job done.

He says the primary feature of the project will be an overlook shelter on the bluff, a limestone plaza, renovations to the existing bandstand and restrooms, new walkways and solar lighting.
