A local church wants you to clean out your closet and put the shoes you no longer need or wear to good use. The Shoeman mission sells new & used shoes to raise money for well drilling rigs, water purification systems, and other supplies to bring clean, fresh water to those in need. The Faith Fellowship Church in Alton is holding a shoe drive through the end of the month.

Associate Pastor at Faith Fellowship, David Blackburn, says another church member was inspired to look into the Shoeman Water Project.

Since 2008, the non-profit Shoeman Water Project has sent four water drilling rigs to Kenya and teams to Haiti to assemble water purification systems and to repair pumps. The church will be open to the community on Monday, January 23rd and Tuesday, January 24th from 5-8pm for drop off. Faith Fellowship is located just north of Illinois 255 on Seminary Road.
