A local church is collecting items to send to the victims of the recent tornado in Moore, Oklahoma.  Faith Lutheran Church is located across from Godfrey Village Hall on Godfrey Road, and will be gathering the items that will be sent with a teacher at Metro East Lutheran High School, which is the organizer of this event at Lutheran Churches around the region.

One of the teachers at the school has roots in Moore, Oklahoma.  Dale Blachford, President of Liberty Bank, says the church will be taking donations from 8am through 2pm today.

You can also make a cash donation to help pay for the fuel to get down there.  The plan is to take a 26-foot box truck to haul all of the items.  Faith Lutheran Church was actually hit by a tornado in the mid-90's.
