With temperatures topping 100 degrees, Christmas may seem a long time away, but a couple of young girls have enlisted the help of their grandparents to host a Christmas in July fundraiser tomorrow.  Taylor and Lily Freer will be serving Sloppy Joes, chips and a cold drink tomorrow from 10:30 - 1:30 at the family's auto body shop on Alby Street in Godfrey to raise money for Community Christmas.

Community Christmas helps families in need with their Christmas celebration.  Margaret Freer says this was the kids' idea, and they play an active role in making it happen.

Freer comments

The first year, the effort raised $2,400, last year they made $6,000, and Freer says they hope to exceed that this year.  She says feel free to stop by during the fundraiser, or you can make out a check to Community Christmas if you cannot attend.  Call 466-6151 for details.
