For more than 5 decades, listeners to Z-1570 have been showing their generosity through support of the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign.  It was no different today, as the annual Children's Day broadcast prompted $3,785 in pledges which was more than $1,000 over the 2011 total.  The money will be used right here in the River Bend for families and individuals in need during Christmas and beyond.

Salvation Army Advisory Board member Ray Botterbush says it's all for the kids:

If you made a pledge on Z-1570, you can drop it in any red kettle, or drop it off or mail it to the Salvation Army, 525 Alby Street in Alton, IL, 62002.  Again, we thank you for your pledge to support the Alton Salvation Army.
