An Alton auto dealership is again hosting its annual KlaasKids Print-A-Thon to educate families about child safety. The event takes place today from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Mungenast Alton Toyota on the Homer Adams Parkway. Each participating child will be fingerprinted and photographed at no charge.
The event is held each year in conjuction with the KlaasKids foundation. Jolie Walkington is a spokesperson for the event:
The foundation was created following the 1993 kidnap and murder of 12-year-ol;d Polly Klaas. Since 1994, Print-A-Thon events have fingerprinted and photographed more than a million children at no cost to families.
