Godfrey’s Fire Chief will be asking for more barricades to be placed on Lars Hoffman Crossing. An unidentified man crawled to a nearby house in the Rivers Edge Subdivision following the crash that happened sometime Friday night. Emergency personnel were called just before noon Saturday when the man finally made it to the subdivision.
Godfrey Fire Protection District Chief Eric Kambarian tells The Big Z the vehicle left the roadway at the end of Lars Hoffman Crossing, hit a slight slope, went airborne, clipped a tree and landed in a cornfield.

Kambarian says initial reports of a passenger in the vehicle appear to be incorrect, following an extensive ground and air search. The crash victim was taken to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Kambarian plans to ask the village for the added safety measures at tonight’s Public Safety Committee Meeting.
