The Wood River City Council is laying the groundwork for a Chevrolet dealership to stay in town. Jack Schmitt Chevrolet moved into the former Albrecht-Hamlin building on Highway 111 several years ago, but is in need of a new building.
Wood River City Manager Jim Schneider says the city is helping to make that happen.

The new building will be constructed next to the Shop - N - Save on Route 143, and cost somewhere between $5-million and $6-million. Schneider expects ground to be broken late in the fall.
