Runners of all ages and skill levels are invited to this Saturday’s event being promoted by Alton’s Marquette Catholic High School.  The 7th annual "Race for a Mission" 5k fun run will start at the school entrance on 4th street at 8am, wind through the Middletown area, and finish back at the school.  This event is a fundraiser for the senior mission trip for the Class of 2015.

About 200 people participated last year.  There is a competitive aspect to this event, as for the first time the school will offer timing chips to the entrants, according to the Mary Hough, with the school’s Office of Development and Advancement.
