A raid on an alleged methamphetamine production effort in Wood River last Friday could result in charges for four people. The bust happened in the 300 block of South Main Street - an area of town commonly referred to as “Little Italy.”
Following a phoned-in tip, Wood River Deputy Police Chief Dan Bunt tells The Big Z they found numerous “shake and bake” labs at the location. He says that process typically involves putting the ingredients in a 2-liter soda bottle.

Four people were interviewed at the time, but no arrests were made. Bunt says charges will not be filed unless results confirming the production of meth come back from the State Police Crime Lab. He says that process could take 2-3 weeks.
