A 42-year-old Godfrey man is in custody following a manhunt Friday involving Sheriff's Deputies from Jersey and Macoupin Counties. Investigators say 42-year-old Kenneth E. Holloway was seen trying to break into Day's Auto Sales on Route 111 around 1pm, when a 9-1-1 call to report the violation was phoned in.

After evading police for a couple of hours, Holloway was taken into custody around 3pm across the highway in the David Acres subdivision and taken to the Jersey County Jail. He is charged with burglary, possession of a controlled substance, criminal damage to property, possession of burglary tools, and resisting arrest. He is also being held on a warrant from Pennsylvania.
