The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed charges against a pair of Alton men involved in a home invasion and robbery in May. 19-year old Malik S. Carter of the 3500 block of Meridocia was charged Monday with four felony counts of armed robbery, two felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, one felony count of home invasion and one felony count of offenses related to a motor vehicle.

Authorities allege that Carter entered into a home in the 1000 block of Union Street in Alton on May 23rd and threatened the residents of the home with a firearm before taking several items from the residents. He is also accused of forcing a female in the residence to commit sexual acts by force before fleeing in the victim’s vehicle. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.

The State’s Attorney’s Office has also filed charges against 22-year old Otis H. Harris of the 400 block of Jefferson. He has been charged with the same offenses as Carter. He is also being held on a $500,000 bond.
