By the middle of the month, Madison County Transit officials say they will complete a transition that has been about five years in the making.  For years, MCT operated what was called a flag stop system, where you could stand at any safe intersection along a bus route and flag down a bus.  Over the last several years, the agency has been transitioning to a more traditional bus stop system.

MCT spokesman SJ Morrison tells The Big Z they have been designating bus stops based on accessibility, safety and need.

He encourages bus riders to watch for bus stops along their route now if they are still using the flag stop method so that they are ready when the transition takes place January 11th.
