There is a battle brewing for leadership of the Alton branch of the NAACP.  Incumbent James Gray will face a challenge by newcomer Benjamin Golley.  Gray has been president of the local chapter since 1990.  Golley has past leadership positions that include a stint on the Alton School Board.

Golley says his goal is to re-focus the chapter on youth-related issues and believes it's time to bring new ideas to the table:
