As government revenue streams continue to dry up, art and entertainment organizations such as Jacoby Art Center are left to depend on their own fundraising efforts. In years past the center recieve $15,000 annually in funding from the Illinois Art Council, that figure has been cut to just $3,500 a year.

The first of Jacoby's three main fundraisers is coming up on April 13th. The "Spring Smash Up" starts at 7pm inside the center on Friday, April 13th and will have a british theme that was inspired by the 2012 London Olympics. Some of the features will include a clay Olympics, live band and a silent auction.

There is a $10 entrance fee for the program and organizers are hoping the event can bring in at least $10,000. You can find out more about the featured band and other events sponsored by Jacoby by visiting or by calling 462-5222.
