If you have any older cell phones, and it doesn't matter how old, you may be able to help a soldier to communicate with his or her family. A cell phone drive for soldiers has been announced and will run through Wednesday. The drive is being hosted by Democratic State Representative Dan Beiser of Alton. Beiser tells The Big Z the rundown of the drive.

Area residents can drop off donations of old smart phones, tablets, and other older cell phone models to Representative Beiser's constituent services office located at 528 Henry Street. Beiser says the group does erase all personal information from the cell phones but does recommend doing that yourself prior to donating. For more information you can reach Beiser's office at 465-5900.
