Lumiere Place CasinoCarl Icahn will again be a big player in St. Louis business.  The 77-year-old chairman of Tropicana is best known for his ownership of the now- defunct Trans World Airlines, as well as railroad freight car manufacturing company American Railcar Industries of St. Charles.  Now, Icahn's Tropicana Entertainments plans to buy Lumiere Place Casino, HoteLumiere and the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis for 260-million-dollars.  

The announcement is part of a deal for Lumiere's current owner Pinnacle, to sell some of its assets in order to purchase the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles.
