The former head of the Illinois National Guard is raking in the dough in his race to replace Congressman Jerry Costello. Bill Enyart reportedly brought in about 178-thousand dollars in the two weeks following his announcement to pursue the seat. Enyart was a late replacement after the previous candidate had to step down from the race over health concerns.
The Democrat will square off against Republican businessman Jason Plummer, who’s making the rounds across the district with former Governor Jim Thompson on his side. Plummer raised about 237-thousand dollars in the last reporting period. He ran as a candidate for Lt. Governor two years ago.
