The Republican Party opted not to run anyone against Lakin after he beat incumbent Bob Hertz in the March Primary.  Lakin is currently the police chief in Glen Carbon.  Elsewhere on the ballot, the Democratic Party has chosen Jared Hartsock of Bethalto will run against Republican incumbent Tom McRae, also of Bethalto, in District 14.  In District 5, Democrat Will Hanfelder will face Republican incumbent Mick Madison.  And in District 10 in Alton, Republican Chris Doucleff will challenge incumbent Democrat Bruce Malone.
