The Sierra Club, Great Rivers Land Trust and The Nature Institute are teaming up this weekend to raise funds for their cabin restoration project at Pere Marquette Park. Today is the inaugural Cabin Fest Fundraiser at Piasa Harbor Park. The event runs from 10 am until 10 pm and the price of admission is $10 for adults, with kids under 13 admitted free.
Last October the group restored one of the Civilian Conservation Corps cabins in the Camp Ouatoga area of the park and they hope to do at least one more this year. The Sierra Club's Virginia Wolf-Beile says there will be plenty of activities for the whole family.
Three bands will perform, beginning at 12:30 with The Dream Catcher Project. Also on stage will be Typsy Gypsy and The Blu Skies. The event will take place rain or shine and you can also make a donation without attending by mailing your contribution to TNI Cabin Restoration Project, 2213 South Levis Lane, Godfrey, IL 62035
