One of the oldest traditions at the Illinois State Fair wraps up its run today - the butter cow. This is the 10th year Sharon BuMann has sculpted the Illinois State Fair butter cow. She says she used 600 to 800 pounds of butter to create this year’s display which came from a real life scene in her hometown.
The butter cow is located in the Dairy Building on the fairgrounds, where you will also find sweet treats like milkshakes, ice cream and mini cheesecakes. Or check out the cow-cam - a live webcam of the butter cow on the Illinois State Fair’s website: www.illinoisstatefair.info
