The first day of filing brought out a flood of candidates, and the last day more of a steady stream, to bring in their nominating papers for the March 20, 2012, primary election.  The six-day filing period ended Monday for most of the races which will be decided. Because the matter of the congressional remap is still tied up in court, the candidates for the 19 U. S. House seats in Illinois will not begin filing until Dec. 23.
