An Alton School District administrator says delays in pick up and drop off of students from school buses are to be expected the first few days of school. Alton Schools Director of Finance Chris Norman says many of the children and parents are getting used to new schedules, and that can take a few days of adjustment but he is hopeful all the kinks can be worked out next week.

Norman says the evening delays have been more of an issue, since the district policy is to make sure all of the kids – especially in the elementary grades - are on the right busses. Kindergarteners are only released to a parent or recognized adult at the bus stop, so if the adults are delayed the bus will be delayed. Norman expects most of the schedules to be worked out soon.
