The Alton Regional Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is holding its own in an uncertain state budget period, but the impact is already being felt.   Alton CVB President Brett Stawar says they have financial reserves in place, but hopes the state can resolve the issue sooner, rather than later.

As a result of the budget cuts, the local CVB won’t publish a holiday guide, will combine the spring and summer guide for next year and will do more design work in house rather than work with local businesses.  Stawar says the good news is that tourism dollars were good for July at local hotels and restaurants.  For a list of local upcoming events, go to
