Along with many communities across the state, Bethalto Community Unit School District 8 is suffering due to the budget cuts put forward by the state. The price of a school lunch was one of the items considered at the meeting last night at the monthly school board meeting.

On the bright side, because of the school district’s needs, they qualify for $170,000 in aid at this time. However, school lunches were still voted on, passed and prices were increased 10 cents per lunch. Also last night, new board members were sworn into office: Don Woelfel, Todd Meiser, and Sue Walker.
