March is National Women’s History Month and a local organization will commemorate it with an event this weekend. The Eva A. McDonald Women’s History Coalition’s 32nd annual Women’s History Brunch will take place Saturday morning at the Atrium Hotel in Alton and today is the final day to register for the event according to the Executive Director of the Oasis Women’s Center.
Margarette Truschell tells The Big Z the program will include the reading of a proclamation by Alton Mayor Brant Walker, entertainment from gospel singer Oliva Neal and Joanne Lenhardt and the special recognition of two area women.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m until 11 a.m. on Saturday March 14th at the Atrium Hotel in Alton. Tickets cost $13.50 each and can be purchased through today by calling 618-550-1654.
